Why Not Consider a Career in IT?

Each IT skills or experience in the IT can help you with a career in IT, but many IT companies have their own tests from the command and the calculation of the logical problem-solving on donkeys candidates. Increasingly, academic qualifications are always less important than the accepted industry associations or relevant experience, as the rate of change within the industry is more and more speed.

IT job titles can be complex and confusing, but there are essentially three types of role, programmers, managers and support staff.

Programmer
Also known as a software engineer or developer. To put it simply, a programmer writes the code to a computer or piece of software to certain tasks. They are likely to work as part of a team, all work in small individual elements of the entire operation. Only if you were experienced would be responsible for the supervision of an entire program.

Since the computers and software are constantly changing, you are constantly learning new programming languages in training, and you are likely to adapt to these changes.

Large IT companies tend to only recruit IT graduates, although smaller companies can create a NVQ or relevant experience. Doing an internship during your academic study will significantly increase your chances in a position to find a job in programming.

Qualifications or no qualifications, your future employees will probably be an aptitude test, most likely include basic problem-solving with logic.

Operator
The operators are responsible for the construction and maintenance of computer systems. This can be a particular area, such as a network connects the user in an office or a database, which users can access.

As an operator is a much more "hands on" IT career. If things need to establish or change, you are under the desk moving cables and testing of IT systems.

You do not need a degree, but all the qualifications help. An aptitude test is probably caused by employers, although many provide training. Looking for 'operator trainee "positions, if you are less experienced.

Support Staff
This is the role of IT is not necessary to establish a high degree of skill or experience. This includes helping other people with their computer problems.

The companies are generally happy for candidates to start at the bottom and learn on the job.

They could work from a help desk, waiting for calls come from the users to need support or just control, that the programs are operating properly.

More important experience for a support role would also customer service and communications, although all the additional knowledge of computers would be beneficial.
